Newman's Chevron Site: Remedial Investigation, Feasibility Study, Cleanup Action Plan, and SEPA-DNS

The Washington State Department of Ecology (Ecology) invites you to review the following documents for the Newman’s Chevron cleanup site (Site) in Bremerton, WA:

  • Remedial Investigation (RI): A document detailing the nature (types) and extent (locations) of the contamination at the Site.
  • Feasibility Study (FS): Explains the different cleanup methods, called alternatives, including Ecology’s preferred cleanup alternative.
  • Cleanup Action Plan (CAP): Ecology’s plan to clean up the remaining contamination at the Site.
  • State Environmental Policy Act-Determination of Non-Significance (SEPA-DNS): Ecology’s determination that the cleanup work is not likely to harm the environment.

These documents were prepared under the requirements of a legal agreement (Agreed Order) between Ecology, Chevron Environmental Management Company, Nordic Properties Inc., and Victory Business Park LLC. These three parties have

been identified as Potentially Liable Persons (PLPs) for releases of hazardous substances at the Site.


El Washington State Department of Ecology (Ecology) lo invita a revisar los siguientes documentos para el sitio de limpieza Chevron de Newman (el Sitio) en Bremerton, WA:

  • Investigación correctiva (Remedial Investigation, RI): un documento que detalla la naturaleza (tipos) y el alcance (ubicaciones) de la contaminación en el Sitio.
  • Estudio de viabilidad (Feasibility Study, FS): explica los diferentes métodos de limpieza, denominados “alternativas”, lo que incluye la alternativa de limpieza preferida por Ecology.
  • Plan de acción de limpieza (Cleanup Action Plan, CAP): el plan de Ecology para limpiar la contaminación restante en el Sitio.
  • Ley de Política Medioambiental Estatal, determinación de falta de importancia (State Environmental Policy Act-Determination of Non-Significance, SEPA-DNS): la determinación de Ecology de que no es probable que el trabajo de limpieza dañe el medioambiente.

Estos documentos se elaboraron de conformidad con los requisitos de un acuerdo legal (Orden acordada) entre Ecology, Chevron Environmental Management Company, Nordic Properties Inc. y Victory Business Park LLC.
