BP Cherry Point Refinery Oil Spill Contingency Plan Update
Ecology invites interested public and local and tribal governments to review and comment on significant updates to industry oil spill contingency plans. Washington Administrative Code (WAC) 173-182 requires oil handling facilities, pipelines, and vessels to have a state-approved oil spill contingency plan that ensures their ability to respond to major oil spills. Regulated companies are required to submit plan updates to Ecology for review. Some updates require a 30-day public review (WAC 173-182-640).
BP Cherry Point Refinery is adding two new products that will be handled at the facility. The following update is now available for public review:
